Dr. Moses Salgado has been featured as “Champions for Health” in San Diego Physician Magazine in recognition of his volunteer work with patients in Project Access San Diego.
Dr. Salgado is a native San Diegan, and graduated from University of California, San Diego. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at UC Davis and completed his internship in General Surgery at Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto.
Prior to joining Pacific ENT in 2011, he returned to UC Davis, where he completed a five-year post-doctoral residency program in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. There, he developed an interest in the diagnosis & treatment of voice and swallowing disorders. He was one of the UC Davis surgeons on a team that performed a successful laryngeal transplant.
He practices all aspects of Otolaryngology including head & neck surgery (thyroid, parathyroid gland, salivary gland, and neck masses), sinus, snoring, sleep surgery and sinus surgery. As a fellow in allergy he diagnoses and treatment of allergies. Currently, he is one of the few surgeons in San Diego who performs the Inspire procedure for snoring.
Dr. Salgado has participated in numerous research projects, and publications. During his tenure at UC Davis, he received several Honors & Awards, including the U C Davis Otolaryngology Excellence Award in 2005. Dr. Salgado was also awarded the 2016 San Diego County Medical Society Foundation Health Hero Award.
Dr. Salgado practices the full range of Otolaryngology but continues an emphasis in Laryngology (Voice & Swallowing). He uses state of the art, high definition equipment to perform an array of in-office procedures, which once required general anesthesia.
These minimally invasive methods are safer, quicker, and require less down-time for the patient.
Dr. Salgado offers the most advanced options for treating voice & swallowing disorders, including: dysphagia, dysphonia, esophageal stricture, Zenker’s diverticulum, vocal fold augmentation, laryngeal papilloma, subglottic/tracheal stenosis, laryngopharyngeal reflux, spasmodic dysphonia, vocal fold polyps, vocal fold paralysis, presbylarynx, and reflux therapy.
In addition to his position at Pacific ENT, he was the past Section Chief at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and past Co-Chief at Scripps Encinitas Hospital.
Dr. Salgado is contracted with most insurance companies, including Medicare, Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna and Blue Shield.
Dr. Salgado holds privileges at Scripps Memorial Hospitals in both La Jolla & Encinitas, and at the University Ambulatory Surgery Center and Scripps Encinitas Surgery Center.
He lives in North County, is married, and has 3 daughters. He enjoys sailing, SCUBA diving and training in Brazilian Jiu jitsu.
